Portland city Commissioner Dan Saltzman has signed a new park rule that will make Portland Park and Recreation's playgrounds and Pioneer Courthouse Square smoke-free public areas as of Jan. 1, 2007.
Saltzman says, "This is an important step in creating a healthy, livable city. Making Portland's 'living room' and its playgrounds smoke-free benefits our entire community."
