NORTHWEST PRIMARY CARE EXPANDS FAMILY MEDICINE PRACTICE INTO SELLWOOD
Full Description:
Private practice takes over former OHSU space
MILWAUKIE, Ore., October 6, 2006—Northwest Primary Care today announced the expansion of its family medicine practice into the Sellwood-Moreland area. The private medical group will open its fourth medical clinic on Nov. 1, 2006, in a Sellwood building currently occupied by Oregon Health & Science University’s Sellwood-Moreland Health Center.
OHSU is closing its primary care practice at the site at 6327 S.E. Milwaukie Ave. on Oct. 20. Many of the clinic’s physicians will relocate to OHSU’s new South Waterfront facility. OHSU had previously indicated that its Sellwood clinic would remain open in some capacity and was considering making space available for private practice. NWCP will begin its November Sellwood expansion with two physicians and staff.
NWPC said its chief consideration for opening the new clinic is to provide continuity of health care for the Sellwood-Moreland community. The first two primary care physicians will also move their practices from NWPC’s Milwaukie clinic.
Dr. David McAnulty first joined NWPC in 1991 and has served as the medical director since 1997. He received his medical degree from the University of California-Davis in 1987 and completed his residency in family medicine at OHSU and at the University of Virginia. He is a member of the Academy of Family Physicians and is board certified.
Dr. Peggy McNichol graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Penn. She completed her residency at OHSU in 1999 before joining NWPC. She is also board certified in family practice.
