Full Description:
In 1885, Moreland Presbyterian Church began with Rev. Robert Laughlin’s “Sabbath School” classes. The classes met in a building known as Mrs. Randall’s Hotel on SE 11th and Umatilla Streets in Sellwood. After several changes in location, the church settled in it’s current location in 1922.
Today the church has over 400 members from the Portland area. Members are part of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., whose by-laws, Articles of Incorporation and Book of Order are followed. Moreland’s Congregation looks to the Presbytery of the Cascades for regional direction; nationally to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A
